Pediatric Asthma Faculty Champions Initiative
Goal: Increase the number of pediatric health care providers who demonstrate knowledge of environmental asthma triggers and intervention strategies and deliver comprehensive asthma management counseling to their patients.
This initiative creates a network of pediatric faculty members throughout the country, who take a leadership role in integrating environmental management of pediatric asthma into medical and nursing schools in a sustainable fashion, train their colleagues, teach courses, provide expertise and support in their institutions and surrounding communities, and serve as a model for how to integrate environmental management of asthma into health professional education.
To date, the Faculty Champions have trained more than 4,600 health professionals.
