The Earth Gauge™ program works to convey environmental information to the public through a trusted media source – TV meteorologists.
In partnership with the American Meteorological Society (AMS), Earth Gauge™ is transforming the weathercast to an “envirocast” by:
- Institutionally changing the role of broadcast meteorologists to “station scientists” through workshops, training opportunities, and the AMS certification program;
- Providing free, weekly e-newsletters to broadcast meteorologists containing environmental and climate information;
- Providing free, online, continuing education materials to broadcast meteorologists.
