The National Environmental Education Foundation produces tools and resources to help professionals gain expertise on environmental topics that apply to their field of work.

Health Professionals

We offer health professionals—and the academic institutions training the next generation of health care experts— the unbiased scientific facts and strategic educational recommendations they need to ensure a healthy, safe future for their patients.

  • Presentations developed by leading experts in the field of pediatric environmental health education. View PPT presentations.
  • Environmental Management of Pediatric Asthma: Guidelines for Health Care Providers includes competencies for environmental management of asthma, an environmental history form, and environmental intervention guidelines, which are built on best current practices and scientific literature. Weathercasters

The Earth Gauge initiative includes online environmental education for weathercasters on relevant topics like watersheds, livable communities, oceans and coasts and public health.

  • Fact sheets on weather-related events, backgrounders on weather-environment topics, and “Healthy Communities” fact sheets for major U.S. cities.
  • Free, online environmental education courses which count for professional development under the AMS Certified Broadcast Meteorologist program.
  • Information on the American Meteorological Society’s Station Scientist Initiative and the new Certified Broadcast Meteorologist program.

Land Managers

National Public Lands Day provides a collection of materials to help site managers create a successful event.

  • Site manual which covers a planning calendar, ways to involve the community, implementation committees, tools and food, promoting the event, inviting VIPs, final preparations and thanking volunteers.

Educators 

National Environmental Education Week promotes understanding and protection of the natural world by actively engaging K-12 grade students and educators in an inspired week of environmental learning leading up to Earth Day. EE Week offers educators
