EPA Announces Application Period for the Presidential Innovation Award for Environmental Educators
Applications are now being accepted for the Presidential Innovation Award for Environmental Educators. The US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), in partnership with the White House Council on Environmental Quality (CEQ), administers this award to honor, support and encourage educators who incorporate environmental education in their classrooms and teaching methods.

Several federal land management agencies announced fee-free days for 2016, including National Public Lands Day (NPLD) on September 24. A fee-free day is when forests, parks, refuges, and rangelands offer free entry or waive the standard amenity fee for visitors.
