NEEF Launches a National Video Contest: "I Love My Land"

Contestants celebrate their public lands through personal video stories

Washington, DC (Sept. 13, 2016): The National Environmental Education Foundation invites all hikers, bikers, campers, artists and anyone who loves their public lands to join the “I Love My Land” national video contest. Contestants can win a large screen TV, camping gear, a tablet, GoPro and more.

Eligible contestants can use original phone or camera footage showcasing what activity they enjoy doing most in their parks, forests, wildlife refuges, beaches and waterways, to name a few. To join, contestants should visit neefusa.org/i-love-my-land to register. Once they have created their video, share it with NEEF’s Facebook page or post it to their personal Facebook, Twitter or Instagram account using the hashtag  #NPLDContest.

The “I Love My Land” Video Contest is open to all legal United States residents, who are at least 18 years of age. Entries will be judged based upon five (5) criteria:

  • The creativity of the entry

  • Effective use of contest theme (I Love My Land)
  • Technical production and
  • Overall presentation

There will be First, Second and Third Place Winners and they will be announced live via social media and be posted on the NEEF website on or about October 23, 2016.

By participating in the “I Love My Land” video contest, contestants are also helping to promote National Public Lands Day on September 24th. Hundreds of thousands of people will volunteer on public lands across the country to clean up the trails, pick up trash, pull invasive species and more.

This is the nation’s largest, single-day volunteer effort for public lands and an opportunity to help celebrate the lands we love.
