Celebrate National Public Lands Day at Tomoka SP

Do you like scavenger hunts? As part of the National Public Lands Day celebration join us at Tomoka for some family fun on Saturday, September 24th from 10am-12:30pm. The 2 hour photo scavenger hunt will start at the recreation hall inside the park (across from the park store) and will also include a general park clean-up (litter pick-up and/or trail trimming) while finding your photos using the list of clues. We will also have on hand Jr. Ranger kits and two (2) explorer backpacks (backpacks need to be signed out and returned) for those more adventurous and wishing to stay and explore the whole day.

We recommend volunteers bring/wear closed toed shoes, sunscreen, hats, bug repellent and of course your camera. Nitrile gloves and trash bags will be provided or bring your own gloves. You can come just for the park clean-up and don't have to participate in the photo hunt. There will be several areas chosen inside the park. Please bring a snack and plenty of water. Plan to stay, explore and enjoy the park after the activity. Visit our parkstore, Tomoka Outpost, for snacks, beverages (beer and wine served), souvenirs, canoe/kayak, fishing equipment rentals, board games and more along the beautiful riverfront.
