National Public Lands Day and Bike Your Park Event

"Saturday, September 24th from 10:00am - 2:00pm

|We will be offering a Statewide Signature Hike, Mountain Biking, and a Volunteer Project!
|Where: Recreation Area Parking Lot (next to the swimming pool).
|Snacks, Water, and Gatorade provided by the Friends of Panther Creek State Park.
|
|•The Hike: We will be using the Hunt Knob Trail, which include roughly 4.5miles of moderately strenuous hiking. Participants will be rewarded with views of Cherokee Lake, Cherokee Dam, and will see many natural features like sink holes, old hardwoods, native wildlife and much more.
|•The Ride(s): The owners of Panther Creek Bike Shop will be offering a beginner friendly ""No Drop"" ride through the park which will be roughly 5miles of riding. After that, stick around - experienced riders can join in on a challenging climb up the Lost Road Trail, built by the Five Rivers Bike Club, which is roughly a 5mile ""Technical"" ride with various ranges of intensity.
|•The Volunteer Project: We will have a group leader working to pick up trash and trim over growth from the Nature Trail, which is a one mile loop trail attached to the Old Wagon Trail.

|As a Reminder: Please dress accordingly, use sturdy footwear, plan for the weather, and bring a refillable water bottle.
