National Public Lands Day at Marmot Recreation Area

Please joint us for a National Public Lands Day event at the Marmot Recreation Area on Saturday, September 24 form 10:00 am to 2:00 pm.  Volunteers will be removing invasive plant species such as Vinca and Himalayan and Cutleaf blackberries.  the work will build on recent efforts to enhance the site and provide new recreational opportunities.

Wear long sleeves, long pants, sturdy shoes and bring gloves.  Dress in layers and consider rain gear.  Bring a lunch and make new friends.

To reach site:  From Sandy OR, East on Hwy 26, travel 11 miles to Sandy Ridge Trailhead directional sign or from Welches OR, West on Hwy 26, travel 4.5 miles to Sandy Ridge Trailhead directional sign. At trailhead sign turn onto East Sleepy Hollow Drive. Follow East Sleepy Hollow Drive for approximately 1/2 mile. Turn right onto East Barlow Trail Road. Cross the Sandy River Bridge and take a left onto Marmot Road. Follow Marmot Road for 7 miles and take a left onto the graveled Marmot Recreation Site Road. Travel 2.5 miles to reach your destination.
