National Public Lands Day at O'Leno State Park and River Rise West

National Public Lands Day (link is external)is the largest, single-day volunteer event for public lands. Our goals is to connect people to public lands in their community, inspire environmental stewardship and encourage use of public lands for education, recreation and general health. Lend a hand and have fun at the same time by brining your family, friends, classmates, students or coworkers of any age or ability to spend the day outdoors celebrating public lands through volunteering.

Our work project will focus on River Rise Preserve, where we will begin the day with an educational session on volunteering. followed by a trail clean-up and ending with an appreciation luncheon provided free to registered work project participants.

The event will be hosted by O'Leno State Park and the Friends of O'Leno State Park(link is external). Participants are asked to meet at the USHWY 27 entrance of River Rise Preserve State Park (horse barn and equestrian camp).

Lunch will be provided for all pre-registered volunteers. Participants can pre-register by emailing sends e-mail) or calling 386-454-0723. Pre-registration is not mandatory for individuals to participate in the service project, however it is greatly appreciated. Pre-registration for groups is required.

Please wear closed toed shoes, appropriate attire for working outdoors, work gloves and bring insect repellant, sunscreen and water.
