National Public Lands Day Pack and Paddle

Join us at Mousetail Landing State Park for the National Public Lands Day Pack and Paddle. This is an event you do not want to miss! We will meet at the park office at 2:00 pm. and will arrive back at our vehicles at approximately 8:00 pm. We will start with an approximately 2 mile canoe float beginning at the swim beach in Spring Creek and ending in Parrish Branch. From Parrish Branch, we will complete an approximately 5 mile hike into the back country where we will stop halfway and enjoy a delicious homemade campfire cobbler and an extraordinary overlook of the Tennessee River at back country shelter 2. This event will be approximately 6 hours long and be of strenuous difficulty.This trip will be extremely rugged and is intended for experienced hikers, paddlers, and backpackers. Participants must be over 18 years of age and register for the trip in advance. Sturdy, close toed shoes, water, snacks and appropriate clothing is required. Optional items include but are not limited to bug spray, field guides, and binoculars. Due to a limit of 12 participants, please call the park office at 731-847-0841 for information and to sign up.
