National Public Lands Day at Pinecraft Park

Take part in Sarasota's 23rd Annual National Public Lands Day for the removal of nuisance exotic plants and picking up trash and other debris. What to wear: Field appropriate clothes (or old clothes that can get dirty), closed-toe and closed-heel shoes such as hiking boots or old sneakers that may get wet, sunblock, hat, sunglasses and insect repellent. What to bring: Volunteers are encouraged to bring loppers, clippers or shears. Bring your own work gloves, extra drinking water and insect repellent. National Public Lands Day is the nation’s largest hands-on volunteer effort to improve and enhance America’s public lands. 9 a.m. - noon. Pinecraft Park, 1420 Gilbert Avenue, Sarasota. Volunteers should register in advance.
