National Public Lands Day Trash Blast

Friends of the Shawnee National Forest is partnering with the Boys and Girls Club of Carbondale, Shawnee National Forest and Touch of Nature to host their annual National Public Lands Day Trash Blast. Volunteers will meet at Garden of the Gods Recreational Area to help improve site aesthetics by picking up trash around the area! This event is important to the Shawnee National forest in keeping our public lands clean and beautiful for the next generation!

Expect to wear rugged hiking shoes or boots and clothes you don't mind getting dirty. The Forest Service supplies the tools necessary to complete the job and there will be employees of the Shawnee National Forest present along with members of Friends of the Shawnee.
