Third Annual Detroit Lake Shoreline and Riverside Cleanup

The North Santiam Watershed Council and the US Forest Service Detroit Ranger District is coordinating with Oregon SOLVE to host the Third Annual Detroit Lake Shoreline & Riverside Clean-Up event scheduled to take place on Saturday, September 24, 2016 from 10am to 1pm. The Detroit Lake area is one of the busiest recreation areas in Oregon and with the summer coming to an end its time to clean up the garbage left behind. This year we will be organizing volunteers to clean up along the Detroit Lake Campground shoreline, the Upper Arm Day use area and at the dispersed camp sites along the Breitenbush River. Saturday, September 24th is also National Public Lands Day which is the nation’s largest, single-day volunteer effort for public lands. Volunteers will be given project site locations maps, gloves, garbage bags and safety vests at the check in table. With the event taking place on National Public Lands Day parking will be free. Rain or shine dress for the weather. Please wear sturdy shoes or boots. If you have any questions you can contact Rebecca McCoun, North Santiam Watershed Council Coordinator at (503)930-8202 or by email at council@northsantiam.org Activities include: Litter Cleanup.
