Virginia Land Stewardship and Service Day

Lend a hand at Staunton River State Park as we plant native ferns as an accent to the Main Entrance Sign. Already embraced by fashioned timbers and a stone foundation, the sign needs local ferns to add life and greenery as the final theme. The ranger leading the project will educate participants on the roles ferns play in the environment while they are being planted. Hand tools and gloves will be provided, but bring boots and elbow grease to get the job done right! Children are welcome but must have a responsible adult present for supervision.
