Dr. Bill Cibulas

Dr. Cibulas serves as National Center for Environmental Health/Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry's (NCEH/ATSDR) senior advisor for public health and acting associate director for science. For six months during 2013, Dr. Cibulas was temporarily assigned to US Department of Health and Human Services Office of the Assistant Secretary for Health (DHHS/OASH) where he 1) provided expert advice on environmental issues related to chemicals in the environment, public health, and environmental justice, and 2) promoted and advanced the agency’s strategic priorities with other federal agencies and non-government partners located in Washington, DC. Since his return to Atlanta, Dr. Cibulas has provided senior technical support to the NCEH/ATSDR Office of the Director through his appointment as deputy director within the Office of Science, and participation on various high-level interagency committees. Previously CDC/ATSDR positions held by Dr. Cibulas include branch chief in the former Division of Toxicology and director, Division of Health Assessment and Consultation. Dr. Cibulas received a BS in pre-medicine from the Pennsylvania State University, a MS in pharmacology and toxicology from Duquesne University, and a PhD in environmental health/occupational toxicology from the University of Cincinnati.
