The Tucson Field Office of the Bureau of Land Management, in collaboration with the Friends of Ironwood Forest, is organizing a National Public Lands Day event on Wednesday, November 12, 2025, at the Ironwood Forest National Monument. This volunteer workday will focus on restoration activities within the Monument, including tasks such as installing signs, mulching, repairing tread, fixing or removing fences, and maintaining dispersed campsites. Participants are asked to gather at the Marana Regional Airport between 8:00 AM and 8:30 AM, with volunteer work commencing at 9:00 AM at the Ironwood Forest National Monument sites. Volunteers will be registered under a BLM volunteer agreement. It’s recommended that volunteers bring a hat, sunscreen, sunglasses, work gloves, water, and snacks. BLM staff will provide extra tools and gloves for use during the project. For those interested in volunteering, please reach out to Robert Walter, Outdoor Recreation Planner, at 520-258-7204 or rwalter@blm.gov for further inquiries or to confirm your participation in the NPLD event.
