Join us for the 2026 Buckeye Trail (BT) Blue Blaze Festival and explore the diversity and beauty of the outdoors. Again this year we will be joining forces with Destination Shawnee, the Tecumseh Theater and outdoor recreational organizations to bring together runners, hikers and outdoor enthusiasts to the Village of Shawnee. This section of the Buckeye Trail, in the Wayne National Forest, is mostly single-track trail and provides some very challenging terrain.

The Blue Blaze Festival offers a variety of options to get outside and explore the Buckeye Trail. There are three trail running distances, including the Half Marathon, 10K and 5K. Also there is a 10-mile hiking option that will have a lead and sweep hiker. This event is hosted by the Little Cities of the Forest, the Local Chapter of the Buckeye Trail Association.

Following the trail events, our partnering organizations and land management agencies will provide informational sessions that could include hikes around the Tecumseh Lake and hands-on trail maintenance opportunities.
