Join us at for a trash clean up in celebration of National Public Lands Day at the Riverlands Migratory Bird Sanctuary on Saturday, September 26th from 8:30AM - 12:00PM. 

WHEN: 8:30AM - 11:30AM, Saturday, September 26th. Volunteer check-in begins 8:15AM. 

WHERE: 301 Riverlands Way, West Alton, MO 63386. Volunteers will check-in at Ellis Island Parking lot. We ask that volunteers who are able to lift heavy bags aid in trash disposal at dumpsters at 11:30AM. This will require a short drive to a gated lot, lifting items above head, and will conclude around noon. Self-guided litter clean up along trails is also welcome. Head to the Audubon Center at Riverlands to pick up a bag, gloves, and trail map. 

WHAT TO WEAR:

  • Dress for the weather
  • Wear clothes that you don't mind getting dirty and wet
  • Sturdy closed-toe shoes or waterproof boots
  • Hat & sunscreen

WHAT TO BRING:

  • A filled water bottle - we recommend reusable!
  • Snacks
  • Insect repellant, if preferred
  • Sturdy gloves, if you prefer your own. We can also provide gloves for you.
  • A trash grabber if you have one
