Are you new to fishing and would like to learn the basics? Or a seasoned angler who wants to get in some off-water practice? Come to Widewater and participate in the Backyard Bass angler education program! Park Rangers will not only help you practice your cast, but also teach you about the different parts of a fishing rod, requirements to fish in Virginia, as well as what are the different species you can hook on the Widewater Peninsula. This is a free program for all ages! There are a limited number of rods available, so this program is first come, first served. Make sure to dress for the weather, wear sunscreen, and bring plenty of water!
