Restoring Habitat for Wildlife
The Fort Riley Environmental Division invites you to participate in a hands-on volunteer event focused on restoring disturbed areas and supporting vital pollinator populations! Join us for a rewarding day of environmental stewardship. We will be actively restoring areas on Fort Riley by broadcasting native seed mixes specifically chosen to benefit local pollinators and other wildlife.

Volunteer Opportunity – Restoring Habitat for Wildlife

Date: October 9th, 2025

Time: 9:00 am – 3:00 pm Central Time 

Location: Fort Riley – Meet at Environmental Division Office, 407 Pershing Ct, Fort Riley, KS

This event offers a unique opportunity to: 

Contribute to Ecosystem Health: Directly impact the restoration/enhancement of Fort Riley’s natural environment.

Learn from the Experts: Receive hands-on instruction from Fort Riley’s environmental specialists about native plants, pollinators, and other wildlife.

What to Bring:

Snacks and lunch that can be eaten in the field

Water bottle

Sturdy shoes/boots – we will be walking through tall grass and uneven terrain, muddy conditions are possible 

Insect repellent (for ticks and mosquitos)

Weather may vary, dress appropriately. Long pants and long-sleeved shirts are recommended.

Access to Fort Riley:

Participants will need to obtain a Fort Riley Visitor Pass. Further instructions regarding access points and check-in procedures will be provided upon RSVP.
