The changing of the seasons brings us a fresh focus for our volunteer events - tackling the ever-persistent and invasive English ivy. Ivy is one of the largest threats to native habitat: it crowds out native plant species and kills old-growth trees. Removing it from Forest Park and Marquam Nature Park helps improve the health and resilience of theses forest ecosystems for years to come.
Training, tools, snacks, coffee, work gloves, and good times will be provided!
When: Saturday, September 27th, 9am-12pm

Whether you're a seasoned ivy vine vanquisher or a first-time volunteer, National Public Lands Day is a fantastic way to enjoy the outdoors, connect with others, and help restore YOUR public lands!
Long pants, long socks, and sturdy, closed-toe tennis shoes or hiking boots with good traction are required for your safety. Long-sleeved shirts and weather appropriate layers for sun/wind/rain are also recommended. Make sure to bring a water bottle - many folks find it beneficial to bring a small backpack as well. If you have any allergies, please bring medications in case of emergency! Training, tools, snacks, coffee, and work gloves will be provided.
