We'll begin with a celebration of this spectacular forest and its stewardship hosted by the Old-Growth Forest Network with remarks by staff from Mt Hood National Forest and Oregon Wild from 9:30am to 10:00am. Then, we'll gather with local botanists to learn about the native and invasive species of this forest before we spread out for an invasive weed pull from 10am to 12pm. Bags will be provided. Please bring your own gloves. A few extra pairs of gloves will be provided if you do not have them. After the weed pull, participants are welcome to stay for a picnic lunch (BYO) and a 2 mile hike led by Oregon Wild. The hike will be complete by 2:00pm.
This event is limited to 20 people, pre-registration is required, and carpooling is encouraged. Please see the Google Maps link for more information about the location and directions.
