Join us at Keālia Pond National Wildlife Refuge to celebrate National Public Lands Day (NPLD). According to the National Environmental Education Foundation, NPLD is a day of service and an opportunity to give back, build community, and enjoy the public lands that support our health, environment, and well-being.
Keālia Pond National Wildlife Refuge is a public land open to all with free entry. The Friends of Keālia Pond National Wildlife Refuge and U.S. Fish and Wildlife are hosting an open house event for the community to get an exclusive look into the work of the Refuge and volunteer in citizen science.
You will get a chance to:
- Propagate native plants in the shade house
- Contribute to our citizen science iNaturalist project
- Birdwatch at the pond at sunset with U.S. Fish and Wildlife Staff
- Enjoy snacks provided by the Friends
