The Mogollon Rim Ranger District is home to numerous amazing and rugged trails. Whether through hiking the Arizona National Scenic Trail or day hiking one of the Cabin Loop trails, every year thousands of people explore trails on the MRRD. While some work has been performed on our trails this year, without a dedicated trail crew it has been difficult to properly maintain them. Consequently, these beautiful trails could use some dedicated attention, specifically trails with downed and hazard trees. Recently, the Arizona Trail Association has been working on a Sawyer program to address hazard and downed trees on the Arizona and other trails.
