The Portage County Parks Department is pleased to announce that the disc golf courses at Standing Rocks Park will host the Great Glacial Washout VI tournament during the final weekend in September. The tournament will feature both pro and amateur disc golfers and will also include competition at the Yulga course in Stevens Point. Spectators are welcome and vendors will be on-site with disc golf merchandise and equipment.

The first round will tee off at 9am Saturday September 26 at both Yulga and Standing Rocks. The tournament concludes on Sunday at 1pm with awards and raffle drawing at Standing Rocks Park. Online Registration is open now through September 24 with rates ranging from $60 to $90.  Platypus Discquirks (Randy Schukar) will be on the scene providing an excellent selection of discs and merchandise

The courses at Standing Rocks were initially designed by Randy Schukar in 1999.  Known for its rolling hills and peaceful natural beauty, it is considered a challenging but rewarding course that truly tests the accuracy of its disc golfers. Standing Rocks has been voted Wisconsin’s third finest disc golf venue and rates in the top 50 worldwide by UDisc. It is host to some of Wisconsin’s largest and most prestigious disc golf competitions in the Midwest. Portage County is proud of and thankful for the many volunteers and county and municipal park workers whose efforts created a world-class venue for sporting events such as this.
