Celebrating National Public Lands day with a County Line trash bash/tire wrangle at Bay Nothing Recreation Area.   

The United States Forest Service is partnering with Southern Ozarks Stream Team 4847, Ozark River Shepherds Alliance, and KC"s Canoe Rental out of Doniphan, Missouri.  Not wanting to conflict with other area cleanup events and efforts, we have decided to set this date for the 3rd, of October. Limited canoes available so please reach out to Richard Whiteside at (573) 837-0756 and reserve your vessel.   

We will focus on the 16 mile stretch between Hickory Landing, and Compton Access. The canoe crew will take care of the 8 miles above Bay Nothing, while the jet boat crew will take care of the 8 miles below Bay Nothing. Other sponsors and affiliates will be Scenic Rivers Guiding Service, RipCo Guide Service, American Roots Outdoors LLC, and Pop's Events. 

Stay tuned for official flyers locally, more updates for the event, and recognizing those sponsors who want to be apart of keeping our Current River trash free. The Ozark River Shepherds Alliance will be setting the stage for large scale events in Carter, Ripley, and Oregon County in the years to come. 

Again, KC's on the Current is providing a trailer rack full of canoes for volunteers. So special thanks to them for always being apart of keeping Current River clean.
