Event details

Catoctin Mountain Park will be hosting a National Public Lands Day event on September 27th from 10am to 1pm at the Owens Creek Picnic Area!

National Public Land Day was established in 1994 to involve volunteers in the process of improving public lands around the country. In honor of this celebration, we will be gathering at the Owens Creek Picnic Area and preparing the grounds for the autumn season.

Work will include mulching picnic areas, picking up trash and dead tree limbs, trimming back brush, and cleaning of picnic tables and signs.

Volunteers will be given tools and required PPE (gloves, eye protection). Make sure to bring water, comfortable outdoor wear, and closed toed shoes.
