⛏️ What to Expect: Three days filled with fun, trail maintenance, and llamas!

We will be backpacking about 4 miles into our campsite and working on the upper 2 miles of the Columbine Canyon trail. Work will consist of basic trail maintenance like cutting out deadfall from the trail, improving drainage, widening the trail, and cutting back encroaching vegetation.

Volunteers will be responsible for providing their own gear and food for the duration of the trip. ECTA will reimburse participants up to $74 for meals and incidentals.

πŸŽ’ What to Bring: For trail work, please wear long pants, sturdy hiking shoes/work boots, work gloves, and eye protection (sunglasses okay).

Bring a large pack that is able to carry three days' worth of food, layers (including rain gear), sleeping bag, sleeping pad, tent, a way to properly store food (bear hang, bear can, etc.), water filter (we will be camping near a water source), a stove if desired, eating utensils (bowl, spork, mug, etc.), and anything else you may need.

Please bring wag bags or similar waste disposal bags to pack out human waste. The Columbine Canyon is a heavily used and sensitive environment, and we'll be utilizing Leave No Trace principles.

*We will be in the backcountry for the duration of the project and not returning to the trailhead or cars*

ECTA will provide the hard hats and tools. We hope to see you there!
