To maximize impact, public volunteers can pick an area of the lake, whether you’re a boater, hiker, or shoreline walker, to go on a self-guided clean up (Only if you have means, access, and materials to do so). We also have organized groups who have more specific clean-up projects.

Those are:

•             Friends of Dale Hollow Lake who go out on boats and clean debris from lake.

•             Various Scout Groups and Organizations who clean litter from the shoreline around our campgrounds and trails.

If you're interested in collaborating with one of our organized groups, please reach out to Ranger Desmaray.

If you participate in a clean-up, be sure to stay hydrated, and keep water, first aid, gloves, etc. handy for your safety.

Concluding your efforts, send the number of participants involved in your party, number of service hours completed, and photos of you or your group, and the impact made with clean-up efforts to Ranger Desmaray!

Example: We had a group of 4, we went out and cleaned up trash from Gunnels Camp for 3 hours each. Here are some photos attached.

In return you will be put on a list to receive a fee-free coupon to use for a day at one of our fee areas such as: Pleasant Grove, Obey River, and Lillydale Day-use Recreation Areas. There will be a dumpster on site at Pleasant Grove for shoreline clean up debris.
