Celebrate the 37th annual Verde River Day at Dead Horse Ranch State Park! Park entry will be free for all event attendees. The Arizona Game and Fish Department will hold a fishing clinic from 8 a.m. to noon; no fishing license will be required during the fishing clinic.
In addition to the fishing clinic, enjoy fun family activities like canoeing, sandcastle building, food vendors, a rubber duck race, and over 40 nonprofit nature exhibits. This year, stay to hear the announcement of Dead Horse Ranch State Park's birding photo contest winners!
Verde River Day promotes preservation and care of the environment by showcasing informative exhibits on the Verde's unique riparian habitat. The event was organized in 1989 to promote awareness of the Verde River's distinctive riparian habitat, where 85 percent of all wildlife in the area looks for sustenance.
For more information about Verde River Day, call Cottonwood Chamber of Commerce at 928-634-7593 or the Facebook page: www.facebook.com/VerdeRiverDay.
Find festivities located between the Middle and East lagoons, with vendors located under the shade ramadas. Parking will be permitted on the dirt area by the lagoons.
