Explore a beautiful new area and benefit an amazing fishery.  Meet at the Escalante Boat launch at 9am on the Gunnison River between Delta, CO and Grand Junction, CO.  After a short welcome and safety talk volunteers will split into groups, travel to their segments, and pick up litter along eight miles of Escalante Creek.  The Escalante Canyon Road (Delta County) runs parallel to the creek and will serve as the trash bag drop-off location for the project.  Trash includes roadside litter as well as years-worth of debris left over from past food-production operations.  Volunteers will take care to ensure that no active tarps involved in irrigation activities will be removed.  Since the objective is to clean both sides of Escalante Creek, volunteers may get wet!

To participate, simply show up at the Escalante Boat Launch at 9am on 9/20 and fill out the volunteer signup sheet.  Please bring food, water, weather protection for the day, appropriate footwear, and work gloves.  A limited number of gloves and snacks will be available at the staging location.  Trash bags, tools, and good vibes will be provided.
