Invasive species grow up and out, shading out native plants and encroach hiking trails. Help save native wildflowers and keep scenic views open by removing privet. This is a great opportunity to give back to the park and get volunteer hours. We will be removing privet from the Tellico Blockhouse front gates.Be prepared to pull, cut, and carry small shrubs. Volunteers must be at least ten years old. Please wear appropriate clothing and shoes.  Bring work gloves and water; tools will be provided. We will meet at the Tellico Blockhouse parking lot.Directions: 149 Blockhouse Road, Vonore, TN 37885-From Maryville: Traveling south on Highway 411, enter Monroe County and turn left onto Clearview Drive, turn right onto Tellico Blockhouse Road, follow the road ~.25 mile to the parking lot.  If you reach Highway 360 you've gone too far.-From Vonore: Traveling north on Highway 411, drive through Vonore and across the bridge, turn right onto Clearview Drive, turn right onto Tellico Blockhouse Road, follow the road ~.25 mile to the parking lot.
