On Saturday, September 27 from 10:00 AM-1:00 PM, Redwood National and State Parks is hosting a coastal cleanup at Freshwater Beach in Orick, CA. The National Environmental Education Foundation's theme for NPLD this year is "Our Home Outdoors." Join RNSP as we take care of a portion of our public lands! We are grateful for your time and energy towards helping our beaches to be cleaner than you found them.
The meeting point will be the gravel road alongside the beach next to the Redwood Creek/Freshwater Beach Day Use Area in Orick, CA. Parking is available both at the Redwood Creek/Freshwater Beach Day Use Area and Thomas H. Kuchel Visitor Center. The schedule of the event will include time for volunteer participants to sign the Volunteer Service Agreement, a safety discussion and event overview, and then we will transition into the cleanup of Freshwater Beach!
Wear clothing pieces you are comfortable being active in. Remember to bring water/snacks as needed and sunscreen. Note: If you are under the age of 18 years old, a parent/guardian signature is required. Those under 16 years of age must have a parent/guardian present with them at the event.
