Hickory Run State Park is looking for volunteers to pitch in at the park in celebration of National Public Lands Day on Saturday, September 27 from 9 - 11 AM.
Projects include working in the native plant landscaping surrounding the visitor center, trail litter clean-up and trail maintenance. All ages are welcome. All equipment will be provided but you are welcome to bring your favorite tools/gloves to use.
National Public Lands Day is the nation's largest hands-on volunteer effort to improve and enhance the public lands American's enjoy. For three decades, National Public Lands Day (NPLD) has united communities in the care and celebration of our nation's public lands.
More than 70,000 participants are expected to join in trail maintenance projects, park and river clean ups, tree planting activities, invasive species removal projects, as well as hikes and other fun activities throughout the country.
If you need an accommodation to participate in park activities due to a disability, please contact the visitor center. With at least three days notice, interpreters for people who are deaf or hard of hearing are available for educational programs.
