The tournament will consist of six prizes that will be handed out to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place finalists of two categories: the largest bass and the largest catfish. Size will be determined by weight, using a digital scale. The location for weigh-ins will be located at Hot springs LTVA, which is right next to the highline canal, one of Imperial Valley's major fishing canals. In order to protect fish that will be released, fishermen will have the option to video record their weigh in and present it to BLM staff at the weigh-in location. Participants will be able to weigh-in or show their video weigh in from 8am to 2pm. Fish must be caught the same day of the event.
Prizes will consist of Fishing rods, fishing gear and camping gear. Each participant is eligible for a free T-shirt and swag. We will also have an informational booth providing education on our natural resources and provide information about recreation opportunities in our public lands.
Registration is open to everyone and available on neefusa.org, volunteer.gov or contact BLM El Centro Field Office at (760) 337-4400, POC Damian Montano. For more information or inquiries, you can also email at BLM_CA_Web_EC@blm.gov .
