Saturday September 26 is National Public Lands Day!

Join Hopewell Furnace National Historic Site staff with cleaning up the historic landscape from 10am - 1pm. Volunteers will be collaborating with staff in Natural Resources to remove invasive vegetation. You will also learn how to identify certain types of invasives and how the National Park Service works to remove these species.

National Park Service staff will provide tools to complete projects. Please bring a pair of gloves, sunscreen, a filled water bottle, bug spray, and a hat. Volunteers are required to wear closed-toed shoes, long sleeved shirts, and long pants. Due to the nature of the task, short sleeves and shorts are not permitted to be worn. On the day of the event, please meet at the Hopewell Furnace Visitor Center, located at 2 Mark Bird Ln. in Elverson, Pennsylvania for 9:45am for a safety debrief and project overview.

Hopewell Furnace National Historic Site is a unit of the National Park Service and preserves and interprets a 19th century iron community.
