In supportof National Public Lands Day, volunteers will plan to board boats at PebbleIsle Marina to clear trash from the shores of Trace Creek. This area wasseverely impacted by debris from the 2021 Humphreys County Flood and is still recovering. Withoutcleanup efforts, this flood debris will remain and present an environmentalthreat to wildlife, degrade into microplastics, and negatively impact theviewshed adjacent Pebble Isle Marina. Allvolunteers must register to participate online and complete the liabilitywaiver. On Wednesday, September 23rd meet at Pebble Isle Marina at2120 Old Johnsonville Rd, New Johnsonville, TN and follow the directional signsto the boat ramp. Volunteer check in will begin at 9:30am. Please wear clothesand footwear that can get wet and dirty. Knee high rubber boots are suggested. Tennessee State Park Rangers andsupport staff will serve as volunteer crew leaders. The event will be rain orshine unless of lightning or severe winds. Decision to postpone or cancel eventwill be made by 12pm Tuesday, September 22nd.
