Join us on Saturday, September 26 to celebrate National Public Lands Day in the unique landscape of Joshua Tree National Park! Volunteers will perform trail work on a popular park trail to preserve the beauty and accessibility of the park's trails.

This project will begin at 8:00 am on Saturday, 9/26 and end at approximately 2:00 pm, depending on weather. Participation is limited, so volunteers must register for the project beforehand.

Training and supervision will be provided by a project leader. Each project involves physical labor including hiking, lifting, and repeated bending. Volunteers must be able to safely lift 10 pounds repeatedly and must be able to safely hike 3 miles.

Meeting time: 8:00 am
Meeting location: Park headquarters at 74485 National Park Drive in Twentynine Palms, CA 92277
Project duration: 6 hours
Physical requirements: Ability to lift and carry 10 pounds, ability to hike 3 miles in hot weather
Supplies to bring: long pants, sun protection, work gloves, a personal backpack, water for the day, food for the day
