National Public Lands Day Park Clean Up
Volunteer to help protect this vital park on Saturday, September 27th. Fairfax County Park Authority is hosting a park cleanup from 9 am to 11 am. as part of National Public Lands Day. From 10:00 am to noon, FCPA is hosting a volunteer work session to remove vines obscuring the old rail boxcar along the Fairfax County Cross County Trail. All volunteers must pre-register by Thursday, September 25. Important details about the workday and location will be emailed to registered participants.

Honor National Public Lands Day through voluntary service that supports conservation of public lands. Sign in upon arrival on form provided onsite by volunteer leader. Wear gloves provided (or bring your own) and dress for outdoor work. Collect stray trash found in the park. Remove vines from chain link fence around rail car and place where instructed. When finished, sign out on the same form on which you signed in. Bring your own service hours form if you would like to earn service credit for school, work or other organization. Please note this opportunity is not eligible for court-related service.

Minimum age 13. Must be accompanied by a parent or guardian if age 13-15.
