Event details

Preliminary plans are to enlist local school-age kids of all ages (age 2 to 102) to visit our office to meet various staff members who will share their  experiences to educate them on career opportunities as well as how their jobs support and manage public lands.  After that, we will meet at the nearest public lands access at Cedar Mountain SRMA to introduce and share the workload on what it takes to upkeep and enjoy all the amenities of the facility.  We may trim back bushes, cut grass, clean the bathroom and fire grills, pick up trash, improve a hiking trail, wash a kiosk, stain a bench, remove noxious weeds, etc.  Finally, we will enjoy the area by going on a short hike, watch for birds and wildlife, count various plant, insect and animal species, learn about the area geology, history, environment, and just enjoy being in the space with other community members.
