All are welcome and invited to lend a hand to improving habitat in the small, but mighty Marine Community and School Forest in Marine on St. Croix, MN for National Public Lands Day. Projects will begin at 1pm and run through 4pm. Examples of projects include buckthorn thinning and removal, pollinator garden weeding and planting, rain garden weeding and planting, and weeding and mulching forest trails. 

We will take an afternoon break at 2pm for refreshments and the grand opening and celebration of the new yurt classroom with a ribbon cutting ceremony and tours to follow.

Please wear pants, long-sleeve shirts, closed-toe shoes, socks, and work gloves. We encourage you to bring your own labeled loppers, shovels and other favorite garden tools for weeding and buckthorn removal.
