Our tasks for NLPD depend on what remaining work our small staff has at the time. Typical volunteer tasks include dog‑waste cleanup, trash pickup, trail trimming, Rooks Park vegetation trimming, grill cleaning, and trash‑can cleaning. We provide all necessary tools and supplies except protective clothing.

For safety, I recommend long‑sleeve shirts and long pants for anyone working off‑trail, and closed‑toe shoes for everyone.

We generally have tasks suitable for all ages, as long as minors bring a parent or guardian to supervise. (Rangers will supervise the parents.)
