Give a little love to your local national park! Join the National Park Service and Mississippi Park Connection to help us improve the health and quality of the Mississippi National River and Recreation through a morning of restoration. Together, we will plant native prairie grasses and wildflowers to continue restoration efforts at Mni Owe Sni (Coldwater Spring)!

Mni Owe Sni has undergone extensive restoration over the past 10+ years, transforming it into the awe-inspiring prairie and savanna landscapes you see today. Come out and help continue these efforts on National Public Lands Day! We will be planting plugs (small potted seedlings) as part of the ongoing restoration work. There will also be opportunities to learn about prairies, wildlife, and the Mississippi River! Tools and gloves will be provided.

Need any more convincing? All volunteers ages 16 and older will receive a "Fee-Free Coupon", granting them a free one-day pass to participating federal public land sites!

Schedule:

8:45 -9 am : Registration
9 - 9:30 am: Welcome, project overview, and planting demonstration
9:30 - 12 pm: Planting!

Parking: Carpooling is strongly encouraged! There is limited free parking available. In the event that free parking fills up, there will be street parking available for $1.50/hour along Minnehaha Park Drive.
