Event details

Norris Lake Project team will lead a group paddle (bring your own or reserve one) on Norris Reservoir. Participants will learn to recognize naturalized pollinator plants along the shoreline; learn about the impact of erosion on fish habitats, be made aware of eagle nesting areas on Norris, and each paddler will be encouraged to bag “end of season litter” from the TVA camping islands adjacent to Big Ridge State Park during the paddle. During our cleanups volunteers will clean up the lakeshore near the launch points and on nearby islands.  You are also encouraged to bring a life jacket if you have one.

Bags will be provided by the Tennessee Valley Authority at all of the locations. Participants are encouraged to bring gloves and wear tennis shoes, boots, or other shoes with tread.  The lake banks will be muddy so please wear appropriate footwear. Each participant will receive a free T-shirt.

*Please note that we will be using boats and kayaks at this location. You are welcome to bring your own kayak, but if you do not have a kayak, the park will have a limited number of kayaks available.  To reserve a kayak, please select the corresponding option on the registration form.   If you request a kayak, you will receive an email confirmation. *
