Mountains to Sound Greenway Trust NPLD in Kittitas County
This year, we’re excited to once again host National Public Lands Day to support Washington trails, trailheads, and campgrounds on the east side of the Greenway! Volunteers can join us at FOUR sites across Kittitas County, with projects suiting all skill levels and benefiting all types of recreation! From installing picnic tables to re-staining a historic Guard Station, there’s something for everyone, plus a “Cheers for Volunteers” celebration to follow at Dru Bru in Cle Elum.

The Mountains to Sound Greenway Trust is partnering with the Cle Elum Ranger District to host volunteer workparties at four popular recreation sites!:

  • Owhi Campground/Day Use Area
    • Volunteers will help log out connector trails, improve trail drainage, repair picnic tables, and dismantle unofficial fire pits
  • Fish Lake Campground & Guard Station
    • Volunteers will help re-seal the historic guard station, as well as install picnic tables and fire rings at the adjacent campsites
  • Manastash Camp
    • Volunteers will help install picnic tables and fire rings at the campground, improve signage, and clean up trash and debris
  • Riders Camp
    • Volunteers will help remove derelict fencing, install new signs, picnic tables, and fire pits, and improve facilities for motorized users
