The goal of this National Public Lands Day event is to bring together and connect the public and the BLM to learn how to preserve and protect our Public Lands for us, and for the future. The Tonopah Field Office for the Bureau of Land Management along with University of Nevada Reno Extension and The Town of Tonopah will be hosting a cleanup event along the sides of the road near the old Pirate Mine located in Tonopah, Nevada. We will be cleaning up the trash along the sides of the road starting after Dynamite Road meets Waterline Road, more information is located on the map flyer. We will also be learning about the local plants and wildlife. Gloves, trash bags, and some trash grabbers will be provided for the participants. We will have a few porta-potties stationed throughout the project area. There will be snacks and water for the volunteers. If you would like to volunteer, we recommend wearing high visibility clothing and wearing a hat. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to Kenner Elena Vorheis at kvorheis@blm.gov.
