Join Accokeek Foundation staff and volunteers for the systematic removal of invasive plant species changing the ecosystems of Piscataway Park to preserve the park's biodiversity. Invasive removal volunteers assist the Natural Resource team with the management of invasive plant species in Piscataway Park. Responsibilities include plant identification and removal according to best practices. Groups welcome!
Gloves, bags, and grabbers will be provided. However, we encourage you to bring your own re-usable water bottle and wear long pants. Closed-toed, sturdy shoes are required. Participating volunteers must be able to walk moderate distances and travel along the uneven terrain. All ages are welcome, but youth under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent/guardian for the duration of the clean-up. Registration is not required, but preferred for participation.
