Join us as we celebrate National Public Lands Day (NPLD) — the nation’s largest single-day volunteer effort to care for our public lands! This year’s theme, “Our Home Outdoors,” highlights the importance of community stewardship and preserving shared spaces for future generations.

At Steamtown, we’ll be hosting a trackside cleanup project to improve safety and showcase the vital connection between railroads and our surrounding community. Volunteers will help remove debris, care for shared spaces, and learn more about the behind-the-scenes work it takes to keep Steamtown’s historic landscape thriving.

This event also marks the sixth of seven Free Entrance Days in 2025, making it the perfect opportunity to invite friends, family, and community partners to join in.

More details on volunteer sign-ups, logistics, and safety information will be shared soon — but mark your calendars now and help us make a visible difference! Interested parties may reach out to Emily Haryasz: emily_haryasz@partner.nps.gov
