National Public Lands Day: Tanglefoot Trail Edition
Become a Tanglefoot Trailblazer on a beautiful 44 mile paved rails to trail that begins in New Albany, MS. Volunteers will gather on Saturday, September 20, 2025, 8 a.m. - 11 a.m. to celebrate National Public Lands Day and to clean the New Albany portion of the trail (Approximately 3 miles). Trash will be picked up and invasive species will be removed. Trail Trekkers for Nature are wanted.

This is a great event for families, scouts and clubs.  All hands on deck to tidy the trail.  Meet at the Tanglefoot Welcome Center, 221 King Street, New Albany, MS 38652.  Parking in the Tanglefoot Trail Parking Lot off Carter Avenue, New Albany, MS.  Look for the Brown Tanglefoot Trail Signs near 214 Carter Avenue.  The Tanglefoot Trail is a beautiful 44 mile paved bike and hike trail beginning in New Albany, Mississippi and ending in Houston, MS.  It is built on the old GM&O Rail bed.  Built  in the historic rolling hills of North Mississippi, bikers come from all over the country to ride the Tanglefoot.  There are areas of invasive species which need to be removed as well as trash.  The first three miles of this trail is located in the city limits of New Albany.  All hands on deck  for the clearing the trail.
