Event Overview Celebrate National Public Lands Day by joining a hands‑on volunteer stewardship project in the Unaka Mountain Wilderness. We’ll be working along the scenic Rock Creek Falls Trail, a rugged corridor known for its lush hemlock stands, moss‑covered boulders, and cascading waterfalls. Volunteers will help improve trail conditions, protect wilderness character, and ensure safe access for future visitors.

Project Activities Participants will assist with:

• Brushing and clearing the trail corridor
• Removing small blowdowns using wilderness‑approved hand tools
• Cleaning and improving drainage features
• Light tread stabilization in eroded sections 
• Difficulty Level Moderate. Volunteers should expect uneven terrain, creek crossings, and a 2–4-mile round‑trip hike depending on worksite location.
